Classification by robot control method
According to the control method, robots can be divided into two types: non servo robots and servo controlled robots.
1) Non servo robots. Non servo robots have limited working abilities and often involve robots called “end point”, “grab and release”, or “switch” type robots, especially “finite sequence” robots.
2) Servo controlled robots. Servo controlled robots have stronger working capabilities than non servo robots, making them more expensive and in some cases less reliable than simple robots. Servo control robots can be divided into two types: point servo control and continuous path (trajectory) servo control.
Controllers are divided into combination logic controllers and microprogramming controllers, each with its own strengths and weaknesses. The design of a combination logic controller is cumbersome and has a complex structure. Once the design is completed, it cannot be modified or expanded, but it is fast. The design of a microprogram controller is convenient, with a simple structure and easy modification or expansion. To modify the function of a machine instruction, only the corresponding microprogram needs to be reprogrammed; To add a machine instruction, simply add a microprogram to the control memory, but it is done by executing a microprogram.
